Virtual Universe Created

It's a bright and sunny Saturday morning. I woke up late as usual, enjoying the simple pleasure of feeling the late morning sun on my face as I woke up. Haha. So shiok.

Anyway, today I won't be discussing an article, but rather a video. It's a news clip about scientists creating a virtual universe in a supercomputer. This virtual universe is called the "Millenium Simulation" (I guess they might be Star Wars fans).

Anyway, this simulation is part of a study to simulate how the universe was created, how it evolves and how it will end. It has taken 5 years to develop and is the most accurate model of the universe to date. The supercomputer had to calculate the movements of over 10 billion particles over the equivalent of 13 billion years of time.

I wonder whether they actually simulated life within the virtual universe. Maybe, without knowing about it, they actually did, and dozens of little virtual races of beings have already lived out their existence in the simulation. Makes you wonder whether we are all just part of a simulation, just like in the Matrix, or just part of some experiment by some higher beings...
