Karma?
Today was a quick Monday cos I spent the day mostly out of the office and on sort of an excursion. My IA company brought us out to see some production lines. For what, you can ask me in person. Haha. :P However, I was given some bad (or good, depending on how you see it) news while I was out. The news was that my project had been selected for the company's project competition. Sounds good right? Well, "selected" is actually a nice way to put it, cos the judges basically just accepted all the entries.
Anyway, the real bad news is that I have to do a presentation for my projects on Wednesday, the 1st of June, in the afternoon. And for all of you who aren't in Computer Engineering like me, the problem with this is that the 1st of June is subject registration day. The time for the presentations? Well, if you're guessing it's more bad news, then you're right. The time is from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm (). Considering the time for my registration is from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm, I think you'll understand why I say that it's bad news. The part that is eating me now is that initially, it was supposed to be from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, which would have been just nice. Why did it change?
Although it is possible to apply from my office, I really don't know if I can trust the proxy server there to not c*ck up my registration. I also don't really know if the internet access would be fast enough for me to get the subjects I want.
So, right now as I see it, I basically have 3 choices. One, go to school for the subject registration at 2:30 pm, pray that I can get my desired choices by latest 2:45 pm, take a freak'in expensive taxi back to my office and do my presentation. Two, do the registration from my office and pray that the proxy server doesn't block my registration, considering it as sending some illegal information, and then rush to the location for my presentation. Or three, skip the project competition altogether, take a half day off, and do my subject registration in school, taking however long I wish to.
At this point in time, I'm really wondering whether I did something wrong these past few weeks (or months) and so the bad karma is finding its way back to haunt me. I mean, I'm the ONLY Computer Engineering intern in my company, and out of the 30 days in June, the 2 days just had to coincide. Sigh...
Could someone give me some advice/suggestions? Sorry, not really in the mood to do a proper post. Sorry about the whining too...

well... sometimes a lot of things tend to come together when u least expect it...
for my case, during the time for submission of report, which in my opinion is slightly early, i had oso to hand in some other assignments required by my coy... very shagged until i fell sick...till now still in the process of recovering... but okay, my case is i hope over liao... anyway...
perhaps... i wonder is it possible for you to let HR know about ur case? then request for the competition to set in the morning? or yours alone on another date? or... unless u really care about ur registration only, then u forgo ...well unless u really dun mind...
well being selected is good! maybe things might change for the better, good luck!
er... on second thoughts... maybe not good to present alone on another day... coz won't be possible since all of u r presenting to the big shots(?)...
maybe request for the competition to be postpone or earlier time perhaps...
Thanks smiles. Yah, I know the feeling. Unfortunately, working hard won't help me this time as I can't control either of the event's timings.
Anyway, I doubt I can change the time of the competition as the big shots won't be happy.
Just hope everything will work out fine... :)
