Jurassic Park a possibility?

Happy Good Friday everyone! Haha. Hope you guys had a good rest. I was out the whole day cos my mom had stuff to do, so it was a busy day. But I still managed to catch an hour of sleep before dinner. :)

Today's article is about scientists finding soft dinosaur tissue. They found this tissue when they had to break a fossilised T-Rex's thighbone to fit it on a helicopter to transport it out. Normally this is not done as fossils are considered rare and precious to paleontologists, but in this case the breaking of the bone proved to be a lucky break. The finding of this tissue also changes the way scientists view the fossilisation process.

The soft tissue inside the bone seems to contain blood vessels, bone cells and (possibly) even whole cells. Scientists working on this are optimistic about finding dinosaur DNA, and hopefully answer some of the questions that have troubled paleontologists for a while - like "Are dinosaurs cold-blooded reptiles?" and "How are they related to modern living things?" Of course, the major question that remains is whether they will try to clone the dinosaur, and can they do it?

Honestly, I am quite curious about how a real dinosaur will look and act, and I would love the idea of being able to see one live (much preferably a herbivore). It would certainly confirm or refute all the theories about dinosaurs and how they act. For all we know they could be as intelligent as us, maybe they could talk, think, remember? However, the Jurassic Park trilogy kinda left a bad impression on me of the idea of "playing god" and bringing extinct animals back to life. So, I guess maybe some things are better left the way they are.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A 70-million-year-old Tyrannosaurus rex fossil dug out of a hunk of sandstone has yielded soft tissue, including blood vessels and perhaps even whole cells, U.S. researchers reported on Thursday.

Paleontologists forced to break the creature's massive thighbone to get it on a helicopter found not a solid piece of fossilized bone, but instead something looking a bit less like a rock.

When they got it into a lab and chemically removed the hard minerals, they found what looked like blood vessels, bone cells and perhaps even blood cells.

True, I think a small, chicken sized one would be cute to have running around the house as a pet. Haha. But I still think they don't belong in our time.

I dun think dreaming about living among elves and fairies is childish. Really. I think its quite ok. I wouldn't mind living in such a world of magic and mystic as well. It sure beats the hell out of doing Fourier transform to learn the "magic" of signal processing rite?
