I would love (and hate) this Alarm Clock

I woke up late this morning. Just too tired. Been sleeping at about 1 am the past few days. I know, its not really that late, but I'm the kind who needs a good night's rest or I'll be tired (and grumpy) the whole day.

So when the alarm clock rang this morning I instinctively pressed the snooze button. When it rang again, I pressed the snooze again, and again and then, in some subconscious part of my mind, I remembered that each snooze button press stops the alarm for 5 mins. Which means, since I pressed it 3 (or was it 4?) times, I was supposed to wake up 15 (or 20) mins ago! Luckily, I always set my alarm to ring 5 mins early, so I could still make it to work on time.

Well, today's article is on a new alarm clock, something that I think will be good for people like me, and those of you who find it hard to wake up. This alarm clock was developed by the scientists at MIT (yup, it seems they make alarm clocks there too, in addition to advanced bombs, lasers and supercomputers). What's so special about this clock? Well, for one its named "Clocky" (those MIT people are really not Marketing geniuses, but they are great Engineers). But the special thing about this clock it that it runs and hides. Yup, those MIT geniuses gave it wheels so that when the snooze button is pressed, the clock rolls off the bedside table and finds somewhere new each day to hide (clever little bugger!) and ring again 5 mins later.

Supposedly, playing hide-and-seek with the alarm clock will make the sleeper sufficiently conscious (although I do know some people who can sleep through anything and after doing anything) to wake up on time. I wonder when they are gonna start selling these, cos I think I'll need one sooner or later, but I just hope I don't step on it when I lumber around the room looking for it early in the morning...Ouch!

Gone are the days of pressing snooze well into the afternoon - a new alarm clock moves around the bedroom so you have to get up to turn it off.

The not-so-originally named "Clocky" wakes up when the snooze button is first pressed, rolling off the bedside table and wheeling off to another part of the room.

When the alarm goes off five minutes later, the sleepy owner is forced to forgo the comfy confines of bed and go searching for the device to stop it beeping.

PS: Another thing in the news for those who are using Yahoo! Mail (like me), Yahoo is planning to increase its free email storage space to 1GB soon. WooHoo! Click here to read about it.

Hmm. for me i might probably not buy the clock ... coz, if it rangs for the second time and i can't find it(although it's sensible that i'd just follow the sound), then i gonna spend time oso to hear where's that "irritating" sound coming from... :P hehe i didnt read the article but then wondering if the table were too short, it had probably nowhere to hide at all, scarly it just fall off itself.. :P (provided there are mechanisms to detect that)...ok, but it's still an innovative invention anyway.. :P

yah**'s going for 1Gb? that's great! but, there's are sometimes that yah** failed me... and i was waiting for some mails to arrive but just couldn't access it. nevertheless, i would still love the additional space haha, can store more email without deleting them...

guess i whine too long... time for bed soon i guess... :P

>>rx: Nice song. Haha. U r really getting lamer by the day.
Yes, I will try to find it out. But I think u can Google it too rite? Haha. ;D

>>smiles: I guess it is meant to be irritating, else it wouldn't wake you up. But, I'm also wondering how its gonna "jump" off the bedside table.

>>xw: Haha. Ok ok, new question to answer. I didn't hear it but I think it should have come from Glenn. Sounds more like sth Glenn would ask. Haha. :)

BTW, I think it will be quite hard to find a single person who was the first to milk a cow, cos I think it would most likely have happened in many places over a period of time.

Plus, I doubt it would have been a proud thing to say that you drank something that came out of some animals ***** back den. So, whoever was the first probably wouldn't have told anyone. ;)
