Atlantis found?
Today, I was late for work, but luckily I wasn't too late, and actually still managed to arrive earlier than the people in my office. Which means, in theory, no one knows I'm late (i.e. I am "not" *ahem* late.) The reason why I was late was cos I forgot my pass, as it had somehow gotten "lost" in the morning (actually it was just hiding under a pack of tissue paper). So I had to travel back from Bukit Gombak to get my pass. Luckily, I realised it early, or else I'd be early for work, but I would have no way of getting in...
Today's article is on another "lost" thing - the lost city of Atlantis. Ever since the finding of Plato's writings that told of an ancient advanced city, where "earthquakes and floods" in "one terrible day and night" destroyed the Atlantic island empire, many people have tried to find it. Possible locations of the city have popped up all over the globe - from the Atlantic ocean, to the mediterranian, to the South China Sea.
Now an ancient underwater city, that could be the fabled city of Atlantis, has been discovered by a Canadian scientific research team, off the western coast of Cuba. Sonar has revealed a series of urban-like structures like "pyramids, roads and buildings" 600-700 metres underwater, which many feel could be the site of Atlantis. Many have also said that Atlantis is just a fable, but if this site proves to be the real Atlantis, we could see history re-written, as it would prove that civilization started a long time before recorded history. And possibly that ancient technology was more advanced than we thought it was.

Long-ago Greek philosopher Plato may have unwittingly unleashed a modern day political Battle Royale on an unsuspecting world with his haunting tales of the lost city, Atlantis.
Untold legions took to heart the philosopher’s lament that `earthquakes and floods ‘in `one terrible day and night’ destroyed his Atlantic island empire.
Drama in writing style was not lost on this student of Socrates, who recorded his thoughts post-8570 BC in the TIMAEUS and circa 9421 BC in the CRITIAS.
